Day 2: From the Archives. More Cape Cod boats. This is from the marsh side of Welfleet where my boat obsession began. My first summer working as a cook in Welfleet I lived in a very poorly converted garage, five steps from the shore. Every morning I’d wake up early before heading to work and sit on a rickety set of wooden stairs that lead down to the marsh, eating breakfast and looking at this exact view. There were tiny crabs in the sand and a handful of boats anchored in the water. I returned to that spot for years to photograph the boats.
